Whenever I've had weeping hose joints it's been cos of those things. You can't just screw 'em even tighter like with a jubilee clip.....

Perhaps they fail because I re-use them and they lose their springiness....

I don't think I'd want to trust my fuel lines to be held in place with a spring clip. The one thing you don't want to be leaking all over a hot engine and your wiring is petrol!!!

When dealing with any small hose to get a true seal you have to get exactly the right size --- both types of clip have advantages and disadvantages.

Those were designed by the devil, personally I loathe them

Most mechanics i know, me included sling them in the bin and put jubilee clips on.

If you have a slight weep which u will after theyv been off and refitted u cant just nip them up.

THEY ARE NOT FUEL CLIPS!

they are normally used by manufacturers for securing water pipes on the radiator and expansion tank, they are crap and should be replaced on every vehicle in my opinion, i have replaced them all on my tintop with jubalee clips and haven't used them at all on the kit car.

The clips that Omega 0684 shows are great for fuel lines DO NOT use Jubilee clips as they cause small hoses to bunch up and leak , the fuel hose clips exert even pressure around the hose . As for the type shown by Clive (snuggs) they are used by some manufacturers on fuel lines , the old injected Fiesta's used them
