Choosing Throttle Bodies for Vaux XE
Ben_Copeland - 11/4/09 at 05:19 PM

I've decided to go with Bike Throttle Bodies for my XE.

I'm fairly sure the ones i want are GSX-R bodies so i can respace them.

But i'm not sure which ones to get.

The 600's are fairly common on ebay, but the 750/1000s are few and far between atm, or BIN for expensive prices.

What have other people used on there C20XE ??? Something suitable for about 200bhp.

Done numerous searches about its never answered my questions properly. Just want some definitive answers so i can save up if necessary.

Also wheres the best place to buy them?

Thanks in advance.

I remember reading on a forum (Migweb?) that Blackbird TBs were the correct spacing for the XE.

Worth researching I'd guess.

Cheers,
James

Early gsxr750 Srad are ideal.

As to price, be patiant they do sneak through for not a lot of money.

Also look for early zx12r and Busa'

Cant find any 750's at all on ebay

I'll check out zx12r and busa... how do i know they are early ones?

You really want the ones with single butterflys. You can use the latter ones but they will need pulling out and the holes filled.

I will have a look on the bay for you.

Up until recently, I would have said for 200bhp, you would want at least 750 tbs'...However, I'm running GSXR600 TB's and injectors, and my car was recently rolling roaded at (a suprising) 203bhp....So it seems 38mm will flow 200bhp.......

The smaller you go, typically it improves lower down running....but to be honest, anywhere around 40mm should be just fine.......

Good luck.

PJ.
