fuel filter advice needed
grazzledazzle - 29/4/09 at 04:21 PM

Can someone recommend a high flow fuel filter to go between tank and injection pump? Need something that will not limit flow to pump but don't fancy paying demon theives prices.
Bosch pump mounted near tank, duratec v6.

any low pressure filter will do.

I had this fun yesterday. Looked at expensive injection filters online, but in the end, I used the stock one from the bike engine. It cost peanuts, and has the right sizes connections. Why not look at getting the filter from a Duratec V6 - or is this not suitable for some reason....?

Yep.
Even prior to the pump a low pressure filter will restrict the flow to the pump. I had this on my previous car - was cured by a replacing with a bullet filter.
Anyhow, seems demon tweeks now sell a cheap pump for this purpose, so i've gone with it.

Thanks.

Is your fuel tank really that fuel of shite? I'd just run a HP pressure one after the pump.... Though actually my swirl pot has a built in low pressure filter....

No, but it seems shell fuel is.

I put a standard Ford Sierra (the big one with banjo bolts) between my tank and my pump. If its good enough to go after the pump then its good enough to go before the pump, although it is connected in a 12mm ID supply pipe, sorting out the connections was a nightmare.
