Hi all,

I am in the process of mounting my low pressure fuel pump and am in a quandry about the fixings. I have one of these -

but have some space issues and was looking to only use one of the mounting lugs. So my question is - if I only use one of the fixings am I going to get issues with it vibrating itself free over a period of time? and if so what can I do about it (apart from using both lugs!)

I think the main reason for putting these pumps onto rubber bobbins is noise - they do clatter a bit, and if they're mounted directly onto the chassis then the noise will be transmitted through the car.

I have a bike pump on rubber mounts, and it's clearly audible when I turn on the ignition.

Mine bolts straight to the floor, it does clunk a bit.

Ideally you want it low why not put it in the back by the tank, must be loads of space there.

I was planning on mounting it right in front of the tank and solidly to the chassis. However my chassis is not a normal spaceframe chassis and I only have a small space to put it in, It has to share that space with the swirl pot, filter and high pressure pump as well!!

I had thought of using one one of the fixings and putting the other lug though a slot in the panel.

when i ran that fuel pump om my carbs i mounted it on the chassis rail behind the drivers seat on two strips of rubber, very quiet, and no vibration.
