looks like a fuel pump?

My guess would be a fuel pressure regulator, the top bit looks like a vacume take for the manifold so the pressure is adjusted with higher vac...

Just a guess though!...

It's a vapour separator and has a return to the tank. You don't need it

Yup, that's the vapour separator, ISTR you're meant to mount in the bin at the same angle as it was in the sierra

ok so what do i do with the pipe that comes off the sender unit to the separator???? cheers ben

SteveWalker - 2/6/09 at 06:59 PM

Original setup would have been pipe from tank to mechanical pump on engine, from pump to separator, from separator to carb. The third connection on the separator would have gone back to the tank.

I have ditched the separator, I feed straight from the pump to the carb and then take a return from the carb to the tank (my carb already had a tee-piece with a restrictor allowing flow back to the tank although this was blocked off on the original setup).

As it happens I have also ditched the mechanical pump and use an electric one - I wish I could remember the make and model, as it has a discharge pressure suitable for feeding stright to carbs without a regulator.

orite thanks is it possible to get a pic of the carb, where the return pipe goes to and a pic of the t-piece? ben

chuck it in the bin, fuel regulator not needed in our implementations.

Cheers Rich

ok but what should i do with the remainder of the pipe, cap it off??? cheers ben
