Anyone using the VR2 without a normal fuel gauge?
How good has it been in estimating fuel usage?
I do have a low level light on the MotaLeira, but as this is the first tank of gas, I'm a bit worried about running out.
I'm carrying around a 5 ltr can of petrol just in case!
At the moment I'm trying to find out at what point the fuel light comes on and I will go and do a refill. The tank holds 32 ltrs.
I find it works pretty well. It's the only gauge I've got
Always leave a bit for safety, but otherwise i rely on it.
Because of the 'unusual' nature of it's first few days of life and sva etc, did you have to recalibrate yours after a while or did you just set it up once?
I've done 6,500 miles using just the VR2 fuel gauge.
Never run out yet. And it's pretty accurate.
Calibrated once, then again once I'd changed the jets / needles.
Cheers
Mike
Excellent replies, my confidence in it is building !

I've just checked the figures and something is wrong.
The tank holds 7.03 gallons, which I inputted at first fill/calibrate.
According to the mileage left after doing 66 miles is 1141.9 !
According to the fuel usage it has used 0.38 gallons.
These figures can't be correct!?
They sound way off to me
Looks like a fill and recalibrate coming up!
BTW: the rpm and speed are spot on.

Don't you have to do fill tank then do fill & calibrate before the readings are correct i.e. two fills?

Ditto - I have the Veypor (not VR2) and mine has been fine. Calibrated it on the first tank (5 gallons) and then just fill to the brim each time. I suppose it only does what you do yourself - keep tabs on how many miles you have done between fills but with an added bit of science!
NB my tank is actually 5.5 gallons but if I stick with 5 gallons on the Veypor, it gives me a reserve.
The low level warning light came on today so I re-filled the 32 litre (7.03 gallon) tank with 21.89 litres (4.81 gallons) and used the Calib &
fill to input the values.
Now I know my reserve is 10 litres (2.2 gallons) and I am doing 20 miles to the gallon Urban/stop start traffic and the occasional squirt!
I will check again after some motorway/A road use.
