Hi, I installed a swirlpot, it is fueled by a facet solid state pump (square model). This pump is mounted vertically. It makes a loud ticking noise
but does not seem to pump much around. How should it be mounted?

I have the same pump fitted on my vortx, they are a bit nosie at times. The pump is fitted so the braket is at the bottom so the fuel flows left to
right with the car. I have had no problems with this.
Is this pump fitted close to the tank and are you running a fuel reg with this set up?
Good Luck.
The fuel pump should be mounted as close to the tank as possible as they are better at pushing thanpulling.
And pumps must be rubber mounted to quiet them down.
I find mine struggles a bit with the flow, but for best results it needs to be lower than the outlet on the tank, mounted flat, and on rubber bobbins
to get the noise down.
They are pretty poor at sucking fuel upwards, especially if the fuel lines have any air in them. I had to move mine because it wouldn't prime
from empty.

OK, it's mounted as a 'sucker' hence maybe the problems, especially since there is initially air in the lines. It's mounted on
rubber but still quite noisy. I'll move the pump to a horizontal flow, closer to the suction place and lower.
In fact I got confused by the instructions wich state that the pump should be mounted 45 degrees away from the tank. This only makes sense when
it's mounted vertically (i.e. flow is going bottom to top).
