Need to seal tank
speedyxjs - 20/9/09 at 04:52 PM

After yesterdays thread, i have sorted the injector problem (i think). One of the earths had broken and i had forgotten to connect the wire that sends power to the injectors (whoops ). I am now getting a good 12v reading at them.

I tried starting it but now the battery is flat and my charger is at work

The next problem i need to sort out is the leaking tank. I brought it on fleabay, it cam from an endurance racing mini.
The problem is, it seems the previous owner cut threads for the outlet at the bottom but didnt do it very well and the banjo bolt wobbles when it is tight not sure why i didnt notice it before.

Is there anything i can use to thighten this bolt? some kind of putty?

PTFE tape.

Not sure whether PTFE tape is strictly fuel proof... I'd go for JBweld myself

From JB weld website

Q: Is J-B Weld resistant to water and/or gasoline?

A: When fully cured, J-B Weld is completely resistant to water, gasoline, and about every other petroleum product or automotive chemical. For wet-surface or submerged water or gasoline repairs, see our J-B Stik or Waterweld product information.
