fine tuning trigger wheel timing
joscorstjens - 11/12/09 at 08:34 PM

Hi, I'm installing a 36-1 trigger wheel on my pinto engine. Which field in Mtune do I need to change in order to correct for 5 degrees? My tooth 9 is not fully in line with VR-sensor at TDC.

I am at a similar stage, although I have to pick up a timing light tomorrow.

I think you can either change the "trigger angle" from 60 to 5 (more or less I don't know where you are)

Or you could change the "Trim angle". i.e. -5 or +5

I think these do equivalent things. Personally I think "trigger angle" is better.

There seem to be loads of stuff in the instructions about a funky "trigger wizard", but I can't seem to find it, have you worked out how to get that running?

Matt

Adjust your trigger wheel slightly to get it more inline.

Then in the wheel decoder options in megatune, set the timing fixed to 10deg and check with a strobe that this is what you get.

If not, use the trim angle to adjust it, you shouldnt really be more than a couple of deg out.
