sound a bit like a train at idle

coozer - 9/2/10 at 11:27 AM

Yep, its running rich and sounds like a dog panting, killing me with fumes.

In the process of sorting it out now with the help of some great peeps on here

Nice one.

Probably worth balancing those TBI's too.

should make some nice power once its all setup. have always thought about st170 engines but every time i look they are allways going for silly money as all the chavs want them to convert their normal focus's to st170 spec.

TB's are balanced, tuned the fuel table and nearly got the afr at a good state. Runs a lot better and no fumes!

I payed probably a bit over the odds for my ST engine but it came fully dressed and I have had a few quid back from selling bits. It currently stands me £300 and I still have starter, alternator and plenum, tb etc to sell on

Mate of mine has just bought one for £200, no ancillaries.

They can be had if you look hard enough. If I was looking now it would be for an RST engine
