Looking at where to put the fuel tank in my midi - the plan was to put it behind the seats but iva makes this difficult so I'm looking at the front in a similar position to the Sylva Riot (passenger footwell side). The only problem is that to get the tank in, it will have to go through the bulkhead and when the bulkhead is welded in, it will no longer be possible to remove the tank. The filler, injection pump etc. will all be accessable from the top. How much of an issue do you see this being?

I personally would never interntionally design something on a car that meant another component could not be removed..

I guess you could chop out the metal in the way if you ever wanted to remove the tank etc...

But Personally.. I would look at other alternatives.... can you bolt the metalwork around the tank for example?

i'd suggest not chopping the bulkhead to remove the tank - i'm thinking fuel tank and cutting equipment ..... there has to be a risk of something going wrong.

Could you not make the bulkhead bolt on?

What is wrong with the original location + an ali panel over it to make it a separate compartment? the only thing keeping the locost tank from the passenger compartment is the ali seat back.

I'm pondering something similar... plan to cut an access panel somewhere in the bulkhead, so I can remove all necessary components if needs must! Will fab a bolt on cover.

Thanks for that everyone - kinda comfirms my gut feeling! I may look at riveting a bulkhead in - the geometry of the footwell would make that easier, or if not, bolt in.

I guess if this was easy, no one would do it!!!1
