Fuel pump for my spitfire/zetec
cliftyhanger - 5/3/10 at 07:19 AM

I have a few options, easiest is to use an external swirl pot fed by a lift pump, and then the hp one.
However, I would like an in-tank one!
I am guessing if would need an internal swirl pot fitting, as it is a wide flat bottomed tank, with ounly 2 simple baffles as standard.
Is it a case of cutting tank open, and making better baffling either side of the pump area?? can't put a pot below the bottom of existing tank without serious compromises!
Cheers
Clive

Rather than do all that work I would go for a decent size swirl pot and twin pumps. If you really want to go with in tank it might be a better bet to get a new tank made.

I got a new tank for my car, was just easier, MK did me one with the swirl pot at the bottom, decent price aswell... £140.00

Cutting open a Spitfire (even a new one) and trying fitting baffles would not be easy, really not a good idea
