Lets have some advice please.
I am running a Griffin style log manifold on a zetec with a single Throttle body.
My Ecu will run an Idle control valve or do I crack the throttle open enough to get the idle and use the advance to help. ?
Any opinions on the job
I just use cold idle advance to up the speed a little bit.
You do pay with a rough cold idle, but it only lasts a few minutes. Once tuned the engine should still start on the button.

Was just about to post a similar thread, they give a bosch part number but im not sure if its worth it
Theres no need for it, ive never had any idle control valve fitted and find that if I just keep it idling with the pedal for a few seconds from cold
it is able to tick over just using the warm up enrichment.

depends on your management system.
systems like the omex feature idle spark scatter. so if you decide not to use the idle control valve/stepper motor, you can use the idle spark
scatter, which will constantly swing igntion timing back n fourth around a target idle RPM to keep the idle steady.
