Megasquirt Capacitors?
MakeEverything - 10/9/10 at 01:58 PM

Hi all,

Im struggling to find the correct 25uF capacitor for my EDIS as per the mega manual.

Can the guru's tell me what they used please?

A mix of nitrogen, oxygen, argon and other trace gases. I found a 78/21/1 mix worked best.

The capacitor is fitted next to the coil pack on mondeos, escorts etc.It is a rectangular block with a push connector, I fitted one to my car but found it doesn't seem to make any difference to the running if its connected or not.

Im afraid these are no good as they are electrolitic and they wont filter out the high frequencies like a Polyester cap will. Electrolitics also dry out with heat and age or the gas expands which can make them explode, creating a very very dangerous situation to have under the bonnet.

Get Polyester ones, 10 to 25uF will be fine, 100Vdc and capable of 100C or more
