Megasquirt - fuel pump question
Paul (Notts) - 19/9/10 at 06:43 AM

Reached the stage where I have my lap top talking to the Megasquirt and the LC1.

Got readings for air temp, water temp, MAP ect on the display.

As Its a home made injection system I want to turn the high pressure pump on so that I can check the feul lines for leaks.

CanI do this via the ecu settings or Do I neeed to power the pump up on its own to check for leaks.

I just connected my pump straight to 12v when I wanted to test the HP circuit for leaks. Simplest way of doing it, and you control how long it runs for, not the ECU so when it goes leak, you can immediately kill it

Default MS1 is to turn the pump relay on for 3 seconds when the MS is first turned on.

That should be enough to pressurize the system and show up any leaks. I have found that my ability to detect the smell fuel has improved since I started making a car!

Or do you mean that you ability to smell fuel and detect leaks is now a habit?
