I have a new fuel pump that has a 15mm inlet, the problem I have is that the tank outlet is 8mm, are there any reducers available?
I think youll struggle to maintain fuel pressure if you reduce the inlet.
thats massive Ive heard of them being 8 or 10 mm but not 15 what has it come off? are you sure that a filter doesn't fit at that point and reduces to 10mm
It is amcguill motorsport one from ebay, maybe it is the outlet!
My pump is 12 mm inlet and my pipework is 10mm
I had an adapter/reducer on mine and I /think/ its the reason my pump went noisy prematurely
(that and the fact it did run dry a few times getting giddy on roundabouts!)
The "neat" solution (and I suspect the right one) is to add a fuel swirl pot with the same sized connector
feeding the swirl pot with the exhisting pipework to maintain a good fuel supply /throughput to the pump
I have since added a swirl pot...which has meant it no longer has issues when getting giddy..but the pump is still noisy :-(
I suspect they are not that great at "sucking" and really require as little resistance as possible on the inlet side (unless I was just
unlucky?)
I do have another pump on standby here for the day the original one ceases to work...but it came through with a 10mm inlet ....DOH!
I have a mate about to go EFI and he ordered one on eBay and his came through with a 15mm inlet and his exhisiting plumbing is for 8mm!

Rob

IIRC the outlet from my fuel tank is 8mm but I use a swirl pot and a primer pump , the outlet from the swirl pot is possibly 15mm as is the inlet to the high pressure pump. A Vauxhall Cavalier fuel delivery hose fits a treat.
My ex Audi fuel pump has a 15mm inlet. I used a reducer fine.
Where did you buy a reducer or did you have to make one?
