TPS instead of MAP calc tables in Microsquirt

Hi Guys,

Possibly a silly question, but I have been searching all evening to no avail. I have fitted GSXR6 ITB's onto my crossflow & a helpful guy gave me a starting map.

This has been set up to run TPS only, pure Alpha N.

We are using Tunerstudio, & have spent all day yesterday & most of today fiddling, & in all honesty I am very well impressed. I have a couple of hiccups coming off throttle & back on at low openings, but this should be easy enough to sort. Rain stopped play today.

My issue is, & it may be a tiny one, but after seeing someone elses map online today, his said TPSADC down the side of all his tables, mine says MAPCALC.

Am I being daft, but I have searched every where to find a setting to change this, or do I have to start again Does this mean I have a major flaw in my map.

I have been into file - project - projet properties, then to settings but have no alpha n or anything else to do with fuelling type. Can anyone shed any light on why I am being a numpty.

DOH!!

Think I am being a numpty as it seems that Microsquirt does not show any different on the tables, unless someone can prove otherwise.

maybe you have an old version of tunerstudio, I just upgraded to 1.002, and it says says "fuelload %" or "ignload %" depending on which table I look at.

Regarding your early opening issues. Worth checking:
1) that the throttles are balanced
2) that you get changes in TPS value when you move the throttle plates (no slack)

If you only get this with fast changes in throttle then it could be Acceleration Enrichment related, if it happens even if you move the throttle slowly, then this isn't and AE problem.


You should be able to map it fine with alpha N. If it becomes a serious problem or you just want to do it better then you could try the ITB mode (instead of alpha-N), this uses MAP at low throttle settings and alpha-N once you get underway. You do need a stable MAP signal, but that shouldn't be too tough. I have found that MAP works quite well for me at small throttle openings (gsxr600 TBI's on a gsxr1100).

Cheers for the welcome. This is a whole new area I am visiting, hence me thinking this may be a numpty question.

Yes, I am running the latest version as it did an auto-update yesterday morning. The hiccup is not there all the time, just occasionally from being off throttle to ever so just touching it, it gives a sneeze as it drops a tad lean, but only from nothing to cruise scenario. Any slight acceleration is fine.

I am quite happy with it at the moment as it will take full throttle from no throttle at 25mph, 1100rpm and actually pull pretty cleanly all the way through, so not a million miles off!!

Just this weird scenario with the map tables. They respond as TPS as when KOEO the table moves about as the throttle is pressed.

Calibration is fine & the Microsquirt does see even the slightest movement. ITB's are all balanced which was fun seeing as we rebuilt them to actually put the linkage in the middle of the bodies as we spaced them, rather than at the end. This obviously moved one actuating arm to operate backwards, heyho, what fun, lol

Cheers for the ideas. Maybe it's just a bug with Microsquirt ref the tables & it is nothing to worry about.

You could search on the ms site. If it isn't there then ask a question.

You can get funny things in the MLV viewer but changing that is pretty easy (Y axis setting)
