hi there
i was thinking of mounting my petrol tank here

can anyone see a problem with the location maybe for the IVA?
the fuel tank can't be in the passenger compartment, so you'll need a bulkhead between the passengers and the tank, and ideally, there
should be no floor under the tank.
reduces passenger leg room a bit i suppose, but as long as there's a bulkhead, should be alright.
Is there not the room to turn in through 90deg, so the driver and passenger shares the legroom problem, and box & panel it
If I had the room , this would be my choice. The pic is from the Kimini projec t.
It's where mine is (somewhere under that ducting hose). But as previous poster said, you'll need a bulkhead between it and the passenger
compartment.
Found a slightly better picture... And mine has got a floor under it too.
Here are the relevant words from the IVA manual...
10. The fuel tank must be positioned so that in the event of a leak the fuel could
not accumulate or find a path to the passenger compartment. (if fitted in a
compartment there must be a drain which does not exit onto a heat source)
11. A Fuel Tank must not be located in, or form part of the passenger
compartment, or other compartment integral with it and the bulkhead that
separate the passengers from the fuel tank must be free from holes through
which any escaped fuel could travel.
14. Fuel tank filling points must not be located in the passenger compartment,
luggage compartment or within an engine compartment.
