Does anyone know of a good place to get a mild steel or stainless fuel tank made (or anyone on here make them)?

I don't know if this has been solved, but Andy Wiltshire at Axminster Specialist Panels makes some very good tanks. They aren't cheap, but they aren't expensive for what you get. They are very well made and, as he makes them himself, he can take into account anything you need doing to the tank.
