t11 - 26/7/12 at 06:19 AM

Morning all, I'am in the process of wiring up my ms2 v3 and looking at the diagram for the 4 cylinder wasted spark I need a 22uf capacitor on the switched feed, does everyone use this as I can't find one anywhere checked at my local breakers and all the ford citroen peugeot's fit a 2.2uf....any thoughts...........Gordon

Not using one on mine and its fine, I think you only use it if the MS keeps re setting.

It's primarily a noise filter, and most folk don't end up using one. It's one of those best practice sort of things that's belt and braces.

Hi Gordon,

These are fitted to Fords next to the coil pack, gray plastic box with minitimer connectors on it. Available by the 10's in all scrapyards. Be sure to get the connector with it as one of the pins is 90deg to the other.

You do need it, helps prevent noise effecting MS.

Cheers Dale.

Can you not use just a normal capacitor from napkins or RS etc?

Obviously to the correct specification
