Hi there
I've used an ms2 with a k series before, now my latest project is a Duratec in a Caterham. Should I go for a MS2 again, or should I go for an
MS3?
Help me decide, and why!
Cheers
Ian
MS2 more than good enough for running a Duratec.
MS2 is fine, MS3 gives you fully sequential injection which you do not need. Plus MS2 is cheaper than MS3
You can run an MS2 sequentially (fueling and ignition) on an engine up to and including a 4cy.
But the MS3 code is far more advanced than the MS2 code, especially the latest version which is in beta format right now.
For most users an MS2 is plenty good enough, indeed some of the MS3 features are being back ported into MS2, so its still being developed, but if you
can go for an MS3 with an MS3X card then thats the best option, as it wont leave you wanting for anything, it has everything you could imagine all
built in, but the cost is a fair bit higher,
thanks

I'm just about to replace the pinto in my westy with a duratec.
I'll probably go the ms2 route by building a kit. Not that I'm ready for that stage yet.
I can allways upgrade later if I feel the need and sell the ms2 on.
ms2extra now has itb mode for throttle bodies
