Hi, my Sportrak 1.6 efi was running fine about a week ago and now suddenly wont start.
I've put in 10 litres of fresh fuel (thought it wouldnt make it to the nearest petrol station) and it just won't start.
It turns over ok but nothing.
Spark appears to be ok
Battery is fine
Just can't figure this one out.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Is the Fuel pump working
It was a week ago and its not moved so i'm presuming its ok
Yeah, but is it though
Things can fail at any time, worth a check!
Never assume, it makes an ass out of u & me (love that saying ha ha)

not easy to get to the damn thing lol
not easy to get to the damn thing lol
Your engine was starting fine last week, and hasn't moved since, so I'm presuming it starts fine now. Fixed!
You should hear it prime for a second or so when you put the ingition on, check the fuse, fuel pump relay could be a problem too?
Don't presume - get off your ass and check
If it won't start the check list goes;
Does it turn over as normal?
Does it sound 'normal' when it is turning over?
Does it have a spark?
Does it have fuel?
If the answer is Yes to all of those then it gets a bit more complicated
sorry, damn laptop keeps posting twice...............
I'll have a look at the fuse and relay.

Does it turn over as normal? Sounds like it
Does it sound 'normal' when it is turning over? No different to before
Does it have a spark? yes
Does it have fuel? yes 1/4 of a tank now

If it cranks and has spark, it does sound like it's fuel related, or maybe immobiliser. Diagnostic codes should tell you if it's the
immobiliser. If you crank for ages, you should be able to smell the unburned fuel at the exhaust? Or pull a spark plug and see if you can smell it
that way. Either way you should get an indication of whether fuel is getting into the cylinders.
Also, try a spray of easy start. If it starts (even just for a second) on that, then it's definitely a lack of fuel. If it doesn't, then
it's something else.
i dont believe it, left it alone for the last hour or so and it started on the first flick of the key.
Really odd
