As per title, There is currently an offer on the full version of Tunerstudio, comes in at about £38.
Is the full version worth having?
Its worth it just for the VEAnalyzeLive function alone IMHO.
My own experience when fitting ITBs to my 3SGE engine was excellent.
Getting the engine started was easy enough using the generated VE table but off-idle was rough and got worse with throttle application. I started up
VEAL in "correct as you drive" mode and set off.
Within two minutes it was loads better.
Within fifteen it was transformed.
Over the next few days I did more "correct as you drive" miles making sure to use all throttle openings and rev bands, starting low and
working upwards. Driving up long hills helps.
The software shows you which areas of the table have been covered and which need more time.
Some of the initial table corrections made by the software were substantial.
Each test session gave smaller and smaller corrections until the table became almost static.
You can, alternatively, log all the parameters on a drive then analyze it at home and produce a modified table to then load into the ECU.
The Warmup Analyzer works well too, although I have subsequently been able to reduce the recommended figures.
Trickiest to tune has been the Acceleration stuff.
I recently ran the car on a rolling road which confirmed the VE table values to be correct. Rolling road time was much reduced and concentrated on the
ignition timing.
The registered version also has ignition trigger logging which can be useful.
Different people have different opinions regarding VEAL but my experience was a positive one.
The VE analyse feature (ie. auto tune) is awesome and well worth buying it for. However it still only gets you in the ballpark and can't compete with an expert and a rolling road. The other features are (in my opinion) gimmicky.
I'd say it is worth it for the auto tune function as well. Took my lumpy map that I got from a rolling road session when I had inconsistent
fueling and it has made things much smoother. I tinkered with my maps manually first, but the Analyse Live just does it much faster and better.
Plus, I'll always have it available so if I change anything I can then re tune it to suit.
For me, if it gets me 95% of the way there for £40 then it's money well spent, given a couple of hours of rolling road going to cost a few
hundred.
I've got other things I need to set up with that money.
Thanks all, I want to get the car to Bailey's but its about a 150 mile drive, if it gets me a good enough map to get there without 6 holed
pistons its definately with the money.
Off to click buy.
Thanks again
