I'm looking at an OEM O2 sensor for a Lexus which is sold as being "wideband". I can't find any information about the actual
sensor, even on the manufacturer's website. Is it likely to be an actual wideband? I believe Subaru have some that are labelled as wideband but
they're actually kind of halfway between narrow and wideband.
Would the Lexus one work as a wideband with MegaSquirt?
There are a couple that are fairly cheap.
Bosch 15217
NGK 24605
Megasquirt will accept direct connection of a narrowband sensor but a wideband requires an interface or controller.
At least this is how MS1 works. I think that MS2 and MS3 are the same.
I use a SPARTAN 2 controller which uses a Bosch 4.9 sensor. Its excellent.
Got it from Phil at ExtraEFI. £120 inc. sensor
Ah, I didn't realise MegaSquirt has to have a separate controller. I have a narrowband but I was only looking into these because I saw a couple available for about £20. Looking into it some more, the ones I mentioned don't have the same range as things like the Bosch 4.9, so they're only a bit more useful than narrowband.
