Does anyone know if its possible to get an eec-iv module tested??
V4 is going to be 22 years old plus so-finding some one with the equipment may be tough.
I find it’s the wiring at this age that suffers before the ecu. What fault have you got ?
I don’t know whether it is faulty or not, it came with a 24v v6 engine and other parts.
I was going to sell it on, but if its faulty its going to cost me in refund and hassle, seems a shame to bin it as it has the plug and some loom.
Unless it's for an ultra rare model then testing is lilley to cost more than the ecu is worth, just my opinion based on what people have told me
in the past that they had paid.
What engine is it for ?
Unless I am in a rush or it's a seller's market I usually wouldn't pay much more than £25, I did pay more for one from a focus Rs but
there where only around 2250 sold in the uk.
I agree selling on Ebay is getting hard work with people expecting new items for old money and argos style service. But just stick it on as untested.
Its for a 24v cosworth v6, I’ll be using MS, so probably best binning it...
Wo there, don’t be binning it.
Is it a boa or a bob ?
I’ve been asked if I would do one of these. I normally decline as there just to labour intensive but as I’ve never done a granny cosi I said I may
have a look.
Just done a first start on the St220 3.0, I love these standard ecu’s. You plug them in and turn the key and go.
Its a BOA.
I think BOB has an eec-v, and as I understand needs the transducer.
If Bob is an eecv then yes it would be pats and would need the matching rfid chip. But on the plus side they gain obd2. I think the bob is harder due to the gearbox control rather than pats.
Right...
The bloke I got it from harvested all the parts to put it in a Transit, then decided against it...
I’m planning on putting the engine in my Scimitar in the near future, if the pikeys can keep their thieving hands off the big chunks of metal...
Well Warren, you convinced me to have a crack at using eec-iv...
Bought an EDIS6, got the ecu/plug and engine loom, will start working through what I need and don’t need to hook up...
Looks like all the auto gearbox and emission controls can go....
in out for the 2.9 24v cosworth BOA.

Neither of the above pin out lists are my work and they have been plucked from the web.
Thanks Warren & Jim, they will be a great help, it seems the plug on my EEC is wired for a different version, some key connections missing, e.g
left and right o2 sensors, and some pins wired which shouldn’t be...
Some fun to be had.....
It means the plug wasn’t from that engine.
As long as you have enough pins it’s not a problem, they are very easy to move.
Have you checked the ecu is the correct code for the boa ?
Yes the ecu is a 91 - 93 cosworth 24v, I checked the number on apt electronics website, this is the info I got..
Vehicle Scorpio Cosworth 24V 2.9 litre
Year 91-93
System Ford EEC IV EMA-100
OE Ref No. 91GB-12A650-AA
1GAB
VM Ref No. 91GB-12A650-AB
1GAB
ATP Part No.XEF1GBAB

Yep looks good, let me know if you need a hand.
Warren
Cheers Warren, original plan was MegaSquirt, but as I have an EEC and not going for massive power, I'm trying to save a few quid.
