prob no the answer to this but is there anyway of testing injectors, I have a set that may or may not be anygood. Or is it worth buying a new lot.
Just to note I will be putting MS on the car so the initial fireup is going to be questionable, I don't really want dodgy injectors contributing
to problems.
Cheers

A local tuning specialist to me recons them for about £20
They ultrasonic??? them - to get the spray patterns right and also flow test them - which is dead handy for a M$ - as you know the ACTUAL flow rates
to enter - not estimated ones
If you want his number I can sort - he should do a postal service :-)

darrens - what engine are you fitting ?
if RV8 then I would be very interested in ideas for megasquiritng it.
cheers

I tested my injectors by teeing an EFI fuel pump, fuel regulator and injector together, then pumped fuel around the circuit and applied a pulsed 12v
power supply (4 amp mains battery charger with only 1 diode so +ve sine wave only 50% of the time) which triggered the injector quite merrily.
By spraying the fuel into a measured glass container you can see the pattern.
Time the fuel delivery over a minute (I did not worry about flow rates, only that the injectors all supplied similar amounts of fuel over time) to
ensure they were all consistant and made sure when not pulsed they did not leak.
This weeded out a few bad'ns mostly pattern. I substituted the petrol with thinners mixed with fuel injector cleaner and ran these for a few
minutes which cleaned them up nicely.
Cost nothing, just be careful about fumes and sparks !
You only need a pint fuel tank and a big jam jar, as long as the injectors all similar the you are all right.
NB/ By inserting a pressure gauge before the regulator and pinching the return pipe I could force the injectors to start leaking at around 4.5bar,
before cleaning they wept at only 3 !
Now that is locost to £20 for ultrasonic each.
