Can anyone tell me what i need to make up the comms lead megajolt to computer and the connections required.

All this info is on the Megasquirt site.

On the cable, pins 2, 3, & 5 should all be connected and "straight-through".

U need a serial lead like that used on a pc mouse(not the round one).

U can buy them cheap enough. Its a straight through extension.

Are the connections for megasquirt the same as megajolt.

Yes the leads are the same , 9 pin male to female straight through on pins 2, 3 and 5. I made several of different lengths and use them for both applications.
