Ive heard that a shift light can be wired into the MS?
Is this true and if so how ?
The circiut diagram for the sequential shift light on the MS'n'S-Extra
site is missing a diode, you need to place another one in line with the 'high' output of the logic stage, banded end facing towards
the transistor stage (same diode as the rest, i used 1N4001's). If you don't put this in you'll probably find the high LEDs stay on
dimly all the time.
I grafted mine into the instrument panel of the current wagon (mk2 golf), it's the bottom row of 5 LED's in the centre of the clocks:
Click me for a video of them in action, ignore the diesel-like revs they come on at,
was set low for the vid so I didn't annoy my neighbours by bouncing off 7000rpm

If you don't fancy jumpering and sourcing all the components yourself, there is a kit with daughterboard that gives this extra functionality.
Available from both Glenn's Garage and Bill Shurvinton for about £30
Cheers Steve, it was starting to look a bit beyond me.
Martyn, love what you have done with the LED's
fwiw im using this as a shift light but its not up and
running yet
could you do me a favour and answer the q re-tps wiring on the wscc boardroom
