Hi there all,

Could someone tell me what air temperature sensor they have used for a GSXR TB install?

Doesn't seem to be a sensor on the TBs so was wondering what others have done.

Air temp sensor supplied by omex in exchange for cash and fitted in the airbox. However their maps for fueling and ignition show straight line zero correction for air temp so it is not doing anything! At least they supplied an accurate calibration of air temp to sensor raw output. They were unable to supply a calibration for the standard ford mondeo temp sensor. Maybe I'm the first to use one with an omex ecu and the sky is green and pigs bark.

So where does the sensor sit on a TB setup? I figured there'd be one on the GSXR TBs already but there doesn't sem to be...

I'm guessing either in the filter housing or somewhere poking into the TBs themselves...?

It's in the airbox on the bike. Put it in the backplate of your airfilter if you have a single filter, otherwise just tie it close to the bodies if you use individual socks, just needs to be in the general vicinity really. Try and take care to protect it from radiated heat though.

anywhere in the inlet air flow. Air box / filter backplate is ideal.

I don't have either (socks) so I've just cable tied it to the chassis just below the induction - almost in the airflow but not quite

I am using a Maplin FX21X mounted in a hole through an M8 nylon bolt.
I fitted inside the air filter sausage on a bracket to minimise heat soak, on a level with the air horns.
I originally had it mounted on the airfilter backplate but suffered from heat soak.
Personally, I would avoid placing it in the throttle bodies due to the pulsing air flow causing damage.
The data from it looks believable, its hooked up to a Megasquirt with a lookup table generated from Easytherm.

I used one from a Vectra and have it monted in the airbox.Before fitting the airbox it was cable tied beneath the throttle bodys , it worked equally well in either position.
