Fuel Breahter

Am I right in thinking that I need a fuel breather in the fuel system somewhere. The cap doesnt have a breather built in. Its a ford injection fuel rail onto a 1800 zetec. Thanks.

Quite a few recent threads on this subject ...... the search facility works too

Try here for a start

Hmmm yes the search facility does work, I found that out when I originally searched for the topic, however when I didnt find anything I thought I would ask. I will make my question a bit more specific. The topic you have pointed out relates to a tank with a breather. My tank does not have any more outlets, one for the outlet and one for the fuel return. Do I need to make another hole in the tank or somewhere else perhaps?

Yes

Thanks. Worth checking before making more work.

My reply may have appeared to be sarcastic - sorry if I made that impression

You will definitely need a breather of some sort or your tank will slowly implode (I've see this happen )

If you can drill a hole in the highest point and insert an empty tyre valve or something similar and connect a valve of the type discussed in the linked thread, you should be fine.

Tank imploding, sounds interesting. Good idea though better do something soon.
