I've been looking for an EDIS unit for my Megajolt and although some e-bay ads say they include cable others don't.
Is it important to have a length of the original cable or can I re-wire the plug myself?
Also what would you expect to pay?
get the cable i think its easier to get them wired up then
The important one is the cable to the VR sensor, it needs to be properly specced and constructed shielded cable to provide some insurance against the teeny signal from the sensor being wiped out by the many potential interference sources in the engine bay. You can make it yourself, but it's easiest (and cheaper) to just get it from a Ford loom at the scrappy.

Thanks for the advice.
I don't have an EDIS unit at present but have realised that a number of the ones on e-bay seem to have been cut off flush with the plug.
I think I'll make sure I get one with cable to avoid any potential problems.
u2u bigwaza on here as he takes every one he finds when he visits the scrap yard
The one I got off ebay had the plug but the wires were cut after about 2 inches. Wiring it up to the megasquirt was no problem though.
Not all Ford VR sensor leads in Ford looms are screened. In my Escort Zetec loom, circa 1993, the VR sensor lead to the Edis was not screened, but the
PIP and Saw wires, going from the Edis to the ECU were.
