I have just fitted a zx6 fuel pump to my pinto . The first couple of days it was fine , until the engine stoped .
I have checked for blockages and trapped air , but the pump still ticks over as if there was no fuel at all .
Is the pump buggered as i did buy it from ebay.
Is it mounted at the front of the car or the back? I mounted mine at the front and it did not like it.Works nicely now mounted close to the tank.
Steve.
Mine is right naxt to the tank as thats where the wiring was.
If you have not done so already pull the pipe off at the front and put it in a container and run the pump, If nothing comes through then I would
suspect it may be Fugged, Is there a filter between the tank and the pump, if not a bit of crud may have got lodged in one of the one way valves in
the pump.
Steve,
Best to use this type of pump bellow the tank and and as close to the tank as possible.

There is no filter between tank and pump , so a bit of crap may of got wedged in there as i had just been parked on a friends steep drive and the tank
was near empty, is there a way of cleaning the pump out.
Cheers Brad.
I have a ZX6 pump on my car, I have just had a look at my spare pump and I dont think you will have much luck stripping the inlet and outlet end of
it.
Only thing I can suggest is to remove it and carefully tap it on a hard surface to see if anything comes back out., maybe even run it for a few
seconds while you tap it.
Here is a Clean one with filter on Fleabay,

Cheers Steve , i'll give it try.
Brad
It may just be unable to suck fuel up out of the tank as it should be gravity fed. Try sucking from the carb end till you have drawn some fuel well through the pump. It may then work and you can just mount it lower.

It was crap from the tank that caused the problem , managed to split pump and clean it out , but it was a bugger getting it sealed back together , it kept leaking fuel , but i have it sorted now.
Put a filter on before the pump
