Can anyone tell me how to set up the first set of map values in a Megajolt? At the moment I just have a table full of zeros...
Alternatively, does anyone have a basic map for a 1600cc x-flow, to get me started?
Cheers,
David
Start at about 12-15 degrees advance at idle (top left box) then work up across the range to about 33-35 degrees at the max (bottom right)....You will have to alter around a play with it but should be a safe set of values to get you started from. Otherwise I can e-mail a couple of maps for my 1.6 pinto that have all worked with varying degrees of success....Oli.
Someone has a few ignition maps online - can't remember where I'm afraid. Also there is this thread on the Megasquirt forums about
generating an initial advance table - never tried it myself mind you.
Or if you can find the advance curve from a std dizzy - shouldn't be too hard for a x-flow I wouldn't have thought.
As already said start with a 2 D map and adjust from there , about 36 degrees maximum at full load above 3500 revs and about 20 degrees at 1000rpm
.robocogs map will get it started although there should be a basic map installed in the processor when purchased. There are plenty of maps on the
megajolt site includig a 130hp crossflow on webers but didnt find any that were good on my mild tuned crossflow.
I will sort out what maps i have and post them somehow. My car started off with a twinchoke downdraught , mild cam and 1300 pistons so may be similiar
to yours as a starting point.
I have just emailed some to you that will get it running.
Paul.

Can you U2u me your email adress as it has bounced.
Paul.
Thanks everyone - it's starting to make a bit of sense.
What's the process when the engine is running, but the map needs to be "developed"?
