Busa v GSX750R TB's
scootz - 29/12/06 at 07:56 PM

Hello.

Can anyone provide (or point me in the direction of where I might find) comparisons for the Busa and GSX750R in relation to the following:

Outer/Inner TB Bore Dimensions
Injector flow rates

Also, I know that the old Zookie TB's can be split and spaced accordingly, but has anyone tried the 750 K6 (2006) TB's? I note that they have 2 injectors - are both of these located in the usual area of the TB, or is one injector located as 'normal' with the other above the velocity stack (I've looked, but can't find anything obvious on the net)?

Fnally, would anyone like to voice an opinion as to what are best for a car engine application (1.8 Zetec with lightly skimmed head and fast road cam)... Older Busa TB's or nearly new 750 TB's?

Cheers!

I'd say busa bodies are way oversized for a 1.8 zetec. Even the GSXR750 bodies are edging on the large side at 42mm, you may find it's a nicer engine to drive on the smaller GSXR600 bodies, but it depends whether you're aiming for a high revving screamer or to keep some more torque lower down.

I have opted for 750 TB's on my 2.0 Zetec and feel these will be a little large while it is standard. The 600 ones are well capable of 200bhp so would be a better option on a 1.8.
I have used the larger ones partly cos they were cheap but mainly because I intend to upgrade the head and cams next winter and don't want to have to mess around with TB's again.

Ditto - I've 750s on my 2.0 blacktop for the same reason. I know of one person (at least) who used GSXR600 bodies on an engine (4age) producing 160 bhp quite successfully.
