I am working out how to put a swirl tank on my car for the injection system.
I thought about feeding with a low pressure bike pump but am worried that this will be running constantly so will not last long.
I have attached a drawing of how I think it could work. Basically feeding the swirl tank with 2 gravity feed 10mm pipes from the tank with an 8mm breather back up to the tank to release air.
My question is do you think this will work??
The drawing isn't to scale. The feed pipes will be lower down to ensure they are always below the fuel level.

I bought a Golf all included unit of eBay but it won't fit with the live axle and large boot box

Not sure that you layout will work, the problem I see is the HP injection pump seems to be mounted higher than the swirl pot, this will not work, as the HP pump does not suck well, it need a head of fuel behind it.

If you take the feed from the swirl pot out the bottom of the swirl pot, and make sure the HP pump is either the same height or lower than the bottom of the swirl pot, that should work, although the two 10mm feeds to the swirl pot may be too small to keep up with the demand of the HP pump, but you could easily make these bigger to cope.

with the return been feed back to the swirl pot i would have thought that two 10mm feeds to the swirl pot would be ok

agree that the hp pump needs to be feed from and below the swirl pot

I will change the design and put the feed out of the bottom and ensure the pump is no higher than the tank.

I am hoping to build out of ally using the soldering rods that are available. If this fails I will get it welded but just fancy giving things a try.
