Any ideas as to which ECU does the best job for a Zetec runnning GSXR TB's.

Off to spend my cash, but would like some user information...

I wouldn't presonally say there is a clear winner, many products will do the job perfectly with the right map on them. Some do seem more popular, namely emerald, omex, dta, mbe (loosely in that order) on't forget megasquirt if want the diy approach.

Depending on the ecu you choose I'm sure either the manufacturer/supplier or someone on here can provide a map to at least get it running or maybe more if its a standard/common setup on the engine.

I just wasn't sure if 'standard' ECU's could interface easily with the bike Throttle Pot.

The gxsr throttlepot is 0 - 5v just like most ford ones. I'm using Omex which has, like all the others mentioned probably, software settings to calibrate sensor ranges. Setup was easy. Just plug the laptop in with a serial cable, read the figures it shows on the screen at closed throttle and full open, maybe have to loosen and rotate the pot to get them in range, set these in the throttlepot window and its done! Happy to read the Ford crank sensor and coolant temp sensor but you will need to buy an air temp sensor. Controls idle by spark scatter or the ford air bypass valve. Good fun playing with the settings.
Emerald is much the same but slightly better specced. I would go with either.

I have very good experience with the KMS one. DTA was good but service was bad (or at least very expensive but more due to dealer in Netherlands than to product).

I don't know if its possible for you but I think that if you go next week sunday to the autosport international in Birmingham you can score some good discount if you buy at the end.

I did that two years ago with things like battery, SPA-dashboard and other stuff. By paying cash and no receipt, HUGE discounts were given on the stuff on display.

I know that for KMS the guy normally doing the rollingroad sessions for them will be in Birmingham. I suspect that to be the same for the other suppliers. If you are a first to programming these things seeing if you 'match' with them can help you speed up quite fast!

One tip: even though it might cost a bit more: go for a system with a wideband lambda management as standard including a self-learning tool. This is really great!

For me the tinkling with the ECU is a lot of fun and its great to notice improvements; both in performance and economy...:-)

Yep - All std ECUs should i/f directly with the Gixxer TPS.
