easytherm & com port
andrenel - 3/3/07 at 01:47 PM

I have a silvertop zetec with megasquirt v3.

all the temp sensors are showing rubbish values.

I have taken readings from my sensors, but cannot get easytherm to communicate on the com port that meagtune uses.

My megatune is connected via a serial to usb converter, using com6 on the laptop.

easytherm drop down only shows com1 --> com4

any ideas on how i progress, or do I just go and buy GM sensors.

what ver of easy therm are you using ( a newer version may have a bigger list as very few laptops have com ports these days.

What is your laptop running XP ?

Depending on the USB-Serial drivers, you may be able to go into Device manager, LPT and Com ports, find the USB-Serial one, then in the advanced properties (where you can adjust the buffers) there may be a dropdown where you can change the Com port it uses.

If there is an onboard modem, do the same to that and move it out of the way, then stick the USB-Serial where it was.

Or if there is a free one, use it.

got it

There are two ways to get easytherm to send to the ecu as described in the doc below, second method allows megatune to do the sending, This worked Ok for me.
