Managed to get a "set" of eight 4.2 Jag injectors for my R V8 for £25.

Just wondering if there is a way of testing them (with a battery or something), before I bolt them into my car.

The best way is to take them to an injection service agent. They will dismantle, clean, install new seals & test for a price. Not cheap but at least you will know they are ok.

then aply 12 volt to the 2 pins.

You should be extremely carefull that you don't let them drop on their point...

the point will brake and the injector wont spray like it should!

Not ideal, but rough method....

Connect everythingthing up.

Remove fuel rail and injectors from car.
Disconnect coil

Put injectors in rail and hold them in position.

Aim away from the car

Get someone to crank the car over.

After this you should be able to get a round idea of the spray.

Watch out for flames!!!!

You're best getting a few empty jam jars handy for the injectors to spray into if you're going to run them up, slightly less of fire hazard and you could also collect the fuel to check that they're all delivering roughly the same amount. Look at the spray pattern, it should be a nice fine cone not just a jet squirting out at an odd angle.

I wouldn't suggest just connecting them to 12v and seeing what happens, the coils may overheat if they're left on 100% duty for too long, particularly if they're low impedance injectors.

Got my bike injectors cleaned and tested last week , 2 of them were playing up and had to be cleaned several times before they work properly. They were done on an ASNU machine and cost me £40.00 . Don't know what the normal cost is but I suspect it should be a lot more
