Hello Ray.
I've had the Ms on the car since last year and the car has been running. Since December the car has been on the road and I've done 600 miles. Last week the car stopped running I've traced it down to the fact that the injectors are getting no earth signal form the MS.
The way I see it is the crank sensor picks up a signal and sends it to the EDIS which in turn sends this signal to the MS which then reads it and sends a signal to power the injectors. The injectors work in the priming stage. The crank sensor works on My Mondeo. I've checked the wires from the crank sensor to the EDIS are ok and not shorting and the same from the EDIS to the MS. The car runs if I put petrol into the cylinders.
when connected to a laptop running Mega tune I get no RPM reading however if I connect it to a stimulator I can't get the RPM reading to go less than 100.
As I didn't build it I haven't got clue what to do inside it.

Piddy,

Before you go that far, have you tried swapping the EDIS unit as that may be your problem.

It is strange that the MS is earthing the injectors on for prime but not at other times. This is the only time that MS doesn't need a feed from the EDIS telling it when to squirt.

May not be your answer but worth a try for a quick trip to the scrap yard??

Stick with it and you'll get it sorted.

Phil who runs www.extraefi.co.uk lives down your way. He is one of the coders for the MSNS software and builds units. That's where I got mine from. He will be able to tell you what's wrong. Try posting on extraefi where he posts as Daxtojeiro

I've tried two other EDIS units with no joy.

Hi
Having spoken Phil I know he's a good choice to speak to.

Other wise I may be able to help.
All I would need is to cover the cost of parts & P&P.

I had simular problems with mine 3 times when Reved hard.

I found that the Fet drivers have blown
(U7 MC33151P) or simular
This is the IC the drives the FETs that fire the injectors.
I suspect a high RPM my alternator is on the high side.
After looking on the MS forum I have discovered that the power feeding the IC's is now protected on the MS-2, since adding this I have had no more faults.

I don't know if this makes sense or not
as I understand the electronics better than I
can explain it.

The cause in the end was a very silly thing.
The earth wire going into the EDIS unit was faulty it looked in good condition and had continuity but you could make it loose continuity if you bent it about. replace this wire and all is well.
