Throttle return spring.....

Anyone fitting motor bike TB's had a problem with the throttle pedal not returning properly due to the existing spring not being "strong" enough to return the pedal?

have a look at mac1ZR's photo archive under throttle spring section for a poss solution
his is a GSXR BEC but should be the same for a CEC on TB's

I have found that with my Gsxr bodys
.They seem to stick when in traffic at low revs when returning to idle from a small throttle opening.I have lubricated the linkage and also found that by slackening the joining studs and resecuring it helped a bit.
Myold throttle bodys had a centre linkage for the cable and was able to add an extra spring easily but the Suzuki ones are not as easy to improve.

Problem is the spring set up on the bike carb only has to assist on a bike as most have twin pull/push cables so all it has to do is make sure they shut fully at rest.
Put them on a car and quite often you have a heavier cable and a huge metal pedal for the little springs to pull, hence the slower operation.
Definatly needs another helper spring.
If possible rig one oover a dummy cable to where the pull cable would go, or an external car type one attached to the actuator. Sorry can't post a pic at the moment, I'm sure it would help!

I put a second return spring on the pedal as much because i found the accelerator pedal way too light. I then put cable ties through part of the secondary spring to shorten its 'active' length.

Returns ok now provided the cable is adjusted carefully.

I think you just need to be careful that springing the pedal on a Bike carb setup, is that it is possible the pedal could return quicker than the carb and the cable outer could come out of the cups and jam the throttle open
