A question.....

Any reason why fuel swirl pots are made from aluminium

I need to make one for my setup, can i use stainless steel as i have a ready source of ideally sized tubes etc.

Can't see why not - the only function is to hold fuel and perhaps protect it from ambient heat. Particularly if it's placed in the engine bay.

I would say that Stainless is perhaps better than Aluminium alloy.

Stainless should be fine. Many people fit swirl pots in the boots though as more space, less heat etc.

Aluminum is not the best for fuel anyway as it contaiminates the first few fillups..

You are supposed to pickle in vinegar apparantly although knowone bothers.

nothing wrong with Stainless except wieght.
