Having sucessfully finished my brake lines I've now moved onto my rubber fuel lines, but I've read on here that they can't touch the chassis.

This wasn't a problem for the rigid copper brake lines as they didn't sag, but having only put two p-clips in for the supply line from the tank towards the tunnel, the fuel line is already sagging and touching the chassis. I've tried pulling it tighter but to no avail.

Has anyone got pictures of their fuel line in their archive that I can compare to, and if it is true that rubber hoses can't touch the chassis, how do you get around this?

If you put spiral wrap around the pipe, then it does not matter if it touches.
This also goes for copper brake and fuel lines.
The tester is looking for possible wear caused by vibration, but spiral wrap is what they are after.
This also applies to pipes that touch each other.

i have my fuel lines p-clipped to the chassis - is this wrong then? all the p-clips are 10cm apart, and where they do up to the top of the tank, they are all supported with brackets...

My main fuel line is copper 8mm heating pipe with a plastic coating. Mostly this is clear of the chassis, i am assuming the plasticcoating is Ok for protection nwhere it will touch for example near the handbrake mechanism. Is this OK?
