Hi All
I need to blank the holes in my throttle bodies left from removing the secondary butterflies. The holes are about 11mm in diameter and whatever I use,
it can't fall out!
I was thinking of a healthy blob of JBweld in each hole and filed back to ensure a smooth flow.
What's everybody else done?
Regards
Wyn
I use a two part Evo Stik putty I got from Helfrauds when I couldn't get any JB weld. Shapes nicely, and using a dab of water to smooth it on the inside as it's going off means it's beautifully smooth so as not to upset the airflow.
I used some M12 bolts.
i used chemical metal, and then smoothed it off with a small stone in a dremel

I used some appropriately sized bolts bonded in with metal loaded epoxy.
Counter sunk bolts, nylon nuts, small washers and liquid metal.
Filled hole with liquid metal, push bolts through (from inside to out), smooth off excess. Fit small washer and nylon nut.
If the liquid metal fails the bolt cannot slide out due to washer and nylon nut
Thanks guys
Anybody got any pictures?
Chemical metal, smoothed with water and a quick polish with 1200 grit when set.
Due to the shape of the holes in the GSXR TBs it can't really fall into the body unless it cracked into sections which seems unlikely.
OK
I've used epoxy and it just needs a gentle smoothing off but I'm worried it'll crack and fall out (in!). I'm tempted to use button
head socket caps or countersunk screws like Major Stare and plastic nuts just to be on the safe side as if the 'plugs' do fall out they
could destroy the engine!
