I've got a 2 litre blactop zetec with MS2 V3 with EDIS
I've had the set-up going but not not running right, i've put a timing light on the leads to make sure i have sparks.
Cylinder 1,2 firing fine and fast.
Cylinder 3,4 firing intermittently and slower
When i swap the leads over the fault swap cyclinders.
I have replaced the coil and EDIS module with no improvement.
Can any one help

Discussed a few days ago... it looks like its probably a coil driver problem within Megasquirt, but yet to be resolved
does this still work the same as MS is only putting an output to the EDIS module that does the firing etc.
Erm... possibly not then.
The coil drivers for the MegasquirtNSpark are inside the megasquirt.
When using EDIS they are inside the EDIS/Motorcraft unit bit.
But the Megasquirt still controls the signal that tells each side of the coil WHEN to spark.
Aparently from the previous thread, they were sparking but as you've said not at the correct time, although theres was far enough out not to be
able to start the car.
Might just have to wait for an update or U2U them .

OK, 1 question then,
I'm using a timing light to monitor the sparking, when attached to no.1 the light flashes really fast which is normal but when still holding the
triggeri open the clip around the lead the flashing goes slower. But when i do this on no.4 it's the complete opposite slow when clip closed and
fast (normal) when open?
Does this sound right?
OK, so it's safe to say EDIS and coil pack are ok......
Other things to check
Plugs and leads
VR sensor wiring is correct way around
Coil connector
As the strobe uses an inductive pickup to trigger the light, I would not worry to much about the clamp.
One thing that can give weird results is a VR sensor bracket that can vibrate at certain revs.
Making sure that the sensor is mounted completely rigid will be a good move anyway.
i'll check the bracket but i'm sure it's rock solid
