Hi!,
I have used 6mm ID 8mm OD Kunifer for the fuel lines on my Zetec install and wanted to know if I can use 8mm olive compression fittings to
convert the pipe to flexible hose? Not 100% sure what fitting I will use but how have people got cars through SVA and what is acceptable?
thanks
Dave B.
i just ran the rubber pipe over the copper pipe about 30mm and secured with jubliee clips.
sorry should add mine where the proper fuel clips not standard jubliee clips

I used compression fittings on the 8mm copper fuel pipe for my car's SVA test without any problems.

You could also solder an olive or solder ringer coupler onto the end of the pipe. This gives a nice bead for rubber fuel hose to grip against and
prevents fuel line clips and hose from sliding off.
2 things to remember, jubilee clips are a no-no for SVA (although some have passed with them) so use proper fuel line clips. Also any rubber hose
should be marked on the outside as fuel hose to keep Mr SVA content.

We've just got the correct round closing fuel pipe clips with the fuel hose pushed over the copper pipe. (although Jubilees's are fine the
hose clips are better)
Compression fittings are also fine to use elsewhere if required... ours is running Fuel Injection now which is about 40 PSI where carbs are about 4
PSI and its all holding fine.
Thanks guys!

An easy way to put a flare on copper is to use the quater inch setting on a brake pipe flaring tool. Push fuel tube over it and secure with propper fuel pipe clip it'll never come off. Also rather than soldering bends its easy to form tight bends using an external bending spring available from a plumbers merchants.
Second flaring the pipes with a pipe flaring tool and Jubilee clips are NOT suitable for securing small rubber pipes
