Just made a decision to modify my Subaru impreza in tank pump mounting bracket which results in having to weld the bracket. The bracket is currently cad plated I think to prevent it from rusting in the tank. I now have a mild steel weld exposed in the tank. Anyone recommend something I can use in the tank to stop the weld from going rusty...cold gavanising spray?

It won't go rusty as long as there is fuel in the tank - even fumes will protect it.

Thirded- if you've got enough water vapour in the tank to make it go rusty you'll have more serious problems to worry about....
