EDIS 4 or not?
Slater - 20/3/08 at 09:33 PM

Hi, I went to the scrappies and came away with this, I was looking for the EDIS-4 module.

Is this an EDIS 4 or not?

I have a 1.8 zetec and am planning to fit R1 carbs and megajolt.

Doesn't look much like mine - the connector looks the same, but the body of mine looks smaller, more 'moulded' and is painted black.

David's is the same as mine and every other one i have. I do have a spare one here though if your plug is 12 pins as i have 2 but only 1 plug??

Just give me a few days to get the engine up and running so i can test the one i have (and the spare come to that) and drop me a U2U if interested

Nope

That looks more like a standard Ford ECU (ie non EDIS)- the metal case suggests it needs screening whereas EDIS modules are pretty simple and don't....

mine also looks like David's

oh dear, looks like a wasted trip then. I might be in touch with you Paul.

Thanks for replies anyway. Anyone want to buy it ?

what your looking for is this lot:

mine came from a K reg escort 1300cc = HCS engine (updated, squashed x-flow)
and I managed to get it all without cutting any of the wires I need (but that took an extra hour or two stripping back and seperating the loom)

but there were a few more HCS & CVH engined fiestas & escorts that would have had the bits (if someone else hadn't got to them first)

but the cars made after 95(ish) all seamed to be the type without an EDIS
