36/1 toothed wheel and EDIS/megajolt

Hi, my 1.8 zetec came with the original flywheel, I noticed it had a series of holes on the back with one longer hole and there is a sensor pointing at these holes. A crank position sensor I think.

Now.... I was wondering if this arrangement will work with the megajolt/EDIS as I know it needs a 36/1 toothed wheel to work? Can I plug into this sensor or do I need a separate 36/1 toothed wheel mounted somewhere else?

The flywheel is now buried in the gearbox/engine and I don't want to rip it apart to count the holes and check the orientation of the longer hole.

Cheers
Keith.

Simple answer is yes - use the proper Zetec trigger wheel on the back of the flywheel and VR sensor which you have identified.

Yes that is my setup as well. With the edis module it is the standard Ford setup, the Megajolt simply replaces the Ford ECU.

Very reliable and mine fired and ran even before I'd bought the Megajolt!

Just what I wanted to hear. Thanks.

You lucky person - I must admit, it was a real pain fitting a bracket and toothed wheel to My CVH engine - Then it all has to be aligned etc, etc...with your set up, you just need to poke the VR sensor through the hole in the engine Block - Job done :-)

Many of the early ford zetec factory installations used EDIS....

So strangely, the answer is yes - this is exactly what it was designed for....
