Hi. I have just purchased a new wideband lambda sensor because the one I'm using at the moment has started to work intermittently.

Unfortunately the new one has a different connection plug to the old one.( see pictures)

Should I just cut off the connection plugs and join the wires from the new sensor to the old plug?
Or will it not work correctly with joined wires?

No - you can't cut it off, as there's a built-in variable resistor in the plug itself (it's the X-shape on the side). You may well find that the resistor has a different value in each plug.

You can get a new 6066 connector here, and it'll cost you around £6 including postage etc. Mine was delivered within a week. He's even got the colour code ready for you!

If you hadn't guessed, I have one of these sensors for use with my JAW AFR meter - it works very well.
