Hi I have a Bosch external Fuel pump, originally installed on some Audis i believe. it has a hose fitting on the suction side. on the pressure side it has a thingy screwed in, i believe this is some sort of one way valve.

my question is: how to connect the pressure side? Do I need the one way valve? and what kind of connection would i need? The thread is M12x1

BTW how do you mount the pump? appart from tie wrapping it ??

its called "banjo" fitting,i used hose clips to mount mine on a bracket,wrap some rubber round is at it will be noisy when running

yer a banjo fitting same pump as a escort rs turbo or xr3i with external pump they have a small pressed steel mount with rubber molded in to cut noise down. so could use one of them to mount if u can find one that hasent rusted away

Thanks Guys! however the only banjo's i've ever seen, are the type used on Webers for the fuel supply. i.e. a hollow bolt also drilled radially, which goes through through a circular think to which the hose connects.


but in this case the one way valve is extend out of the pump looking like the bolt bit of the banjo, so it would need a nut to hold the the circular hose thing together.

is this something special?? do I actually need the non return valve?

Keep the check valve. It keeps pressure in the fuel system and stops the fuel draining back to the tank, as these pumps are always fitted low down, in or near the tank. The "special" blind ended nut that screws on to clamp the banjo is common on many Bosch EFI fitted cars from VW/Audi, Fiat, Volvo etc. I'm sure you can get one from a breakers or Bosch supplier.
